7 Secrets To Making Your First Million Dollars
What would it feel like to make a million dollars a year in your business? For so many people this thought is out of reach. You may not know this, but making millions of dollars yearly in income wasn’t on Alicia Bausley’s mind years ago when she and her husband started their home based business, but that’s exactly what has happened. How’d she do it?
Recently, I convinced Alicia to finally sit down with me for an interview. I’ve been bugging Alicia for years to let me interview her, because she has incredible knowledge and experience along with a unique way of putting some of the most difficult concepts into the most simplistic (and do-able) terms. And if that wasn’t enough, Alicia also genuinely cares about ‘her people’ (that would be YOU) and wants to help you have YOUR first Million Dollar Year!

I actually took notes (don’t laugh, I often do when I talk to Alicia!) and I included my notes below for your reference. But Alicia goes into LOTS more detail in the interview (because I pressed her on some tough questions), so be sure to have your paper and pen (or laptop open and) ready!
“Alicia’s 7 Secrets To Creating Your First Million Dollars”
- Get into action today to make your first telephone call (prepare yourself and what you will say, what you will present to your prospect and the followup you will take to secure the sale) and attempt to reach at least 12 (and as many as 30) people a day. Leave enticing messages if you get voice mail with a call to action.
- Cold-call if necessary (don’t wait for them to come to you), but know who the decision makers are so you are not wasting your time.
- Follow up! Direct mail (checklist) and more phone calls providing value and assistance (Hand write a personal thank you card and show your gratitude, remember their birthday, send a Thanksgiving card of gratitude, wish them a Happy New Year) and remind them of new services, products, specials and things of value that are important to them.
- Place considerable emphasis on your efficiency and service to your prospect/client and make them feel like the #1 client on your list (no matter how small their business). Take their calls to answer questions, build trust and credibility. Be sure to frequently THANK them when they place orders.
- Provide a product or service that is unique and top-quality. If you don’t have this… start over.
- Never stop personally interacting with your clients. Don’t turn them over to a customer service rep. Never think you are too big in your business to work with a customer. It’s your business, your livelihood. Treat them as if they were your only client.
- Educate yourself to further enhance your skills and then use this knowledge (implement it!) So for example, if you don’t have basic sales skills learn them! These skills are the number one reason, we were able to make it to our first million dollar year.
